Therapy for Sleep, Insomnia, and Nightmares

“I’m so exhausted,
yet I can’t fall asleep.”

Sleep is a normal human process, but for many people it can feel elusive. Maybe you know some version of this:

  • You’re tired all day, but as soon as you get into bed your brain runs through a “Greatest Hits” list of your mistakes.

  • You toss and turn, stare into the void, and think about how hard it’s going to be tomorrow.

  • You’re concerned about potential health consequences of poor sleep.

  • Maybe you avoid sleep because of night terrors, nightmares, or vivid, exhausting dreams.

Things can look different. Together we can look at the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that can perpetuate sleep problems, and implement small changes to support a smooth bedtime routine and improved sleep efficiency.

I’m trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), considered the gold standard therapeutic treatment for insomnia, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Nightmares (CBT-N), which incorporates imagery rehearsal. I’m also trained in EMDR, which can be used to create more adaptive thoughts around sleep and sleep behaviors.
