Therapy for Injury, Chronic Pain, and Chronic Illness
Acute Injury
Maybe you’re here because you learned the hard way why you never call “last run” while skiing or snowboarding.
Or it was all a regular day in the mountains, right up until the moment it wasn’t.
Perhaps you noticed that weird pain while running, but figured it was fine to push through…until you couldn’t push any more.
Injuries are hard. They take us away from the things we love to do, make us feel isolated, and question who we even are. Recovery never goes fast enough because no one wants to be injured in the first place. It’s doesn’t have to be this hard, though. A well-rounded care team includes a therapist who gets it, with both professional and personal experience in injury recovery.
Chronic Pain
Maybe you had an injury, it structurally healed, but you still have pain and discomfort.
You went to physical therapy or occupational therapy, you followed the program, and you still hurt.
You’ve had the x-ray, the MRI, the CT, all of the things - and imaging all comes back looking “fine”.
You’ve had the second opinion, the third opinion, and you’ve seen the specialists, but no one can really tell you why you’re still in pain.
Pain changes your life, but it doesn’t have to be a life sentence.
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Chronic Pain (CBT-CP), Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), and Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET). I am also trained in an EMDR pain protocol.
Chronic Illness
You are still trying to have a family, a partner, a social life, and generally just be a human, and you are also juggling doctor’s appointments, lab work, and your symptoms.
Or maybe you received the diagnosis you were most afraid of, and it feels so f*cking unfair.
You’ve been harmed and gaslit by the very same medical system you turned to for healing.
You might just punch the next person who says, “Well, you don’t look that sick.”
Dealing with a chronic illness can be scary and uncertain. It can also feel incredibly unjust, like your body and the medical systems have betrayed you. I am here to witness your lived experience, walk beside you, and advocate for you.
